ERA response to Westminster Hall debate on fuel poverty
23rd January 2007
The Energy Retail Association, which represents Britain's energy suppliers, says;
"There is a lot of emotional language being used in this debate but the facts are simple. According to Ofgem's latest figures, wholesale gas prices have increased by 167% over the last three years where as customers' bills have gone up 52%.
As the independent regulator said last week, we have the most competitive energy market in the world and our prices continue to be among the cheapest in Europe."
